THE VILLAGE
Pero Moniz is primarily an agricultural village, the main crops being pears and grapes. Just outside either end of the village, there are two vineries which turn the grapes into wine. You are able to purchase their products from them. In the village there are three cafe/bars, one has an adjoining shop for general produce. As well as vineyards and orchards of pears on the outskirts of the village, there are forests of pine and eucalyptus trees. Also nearby is the mountain range of Serra Montejunto.

SURROUNDING VILLAGES AND TOWNS
Cadaval which is three kilometres away and Bomarral at five kilometres distance, are towns with numerous various types of shops and supermarkets, banks, chemists, cafes and restaurants etc. Both have health clinics.
Bombarral Council has recently given permission for The Sky Towers Theme Park, to be built just outside the town. The site will cover 38 hectares and will cost an estimated 54 million Euro.

Obidos is approximately twenty minutes away by car. It is a Medieval village within the walls of the castle. It is a very popular tourist spot, due not only for the beauty of the place, but also for the unique shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, set within the narrow streets. Crowds also gather for the different festivals that are held there, including Christmas festival, Medieval festival and Chocolate festival.
Caldas da Rainha to the North and Torres Vedras to the South are both approximately thirty minutes by road. These are both larger towns with plentiful shops and shopping centres. Both places have hospitals and private health clinics.
